Restoration by Elizabeth S.M. Ward The flowers that gave us vibrant colours in the sun The leaves that danced in the gentle evening breeze The birds that sang us their sweet early morning song Have left us ... Now that Summer's gone The children who played so happily in the sand Calling on imagination to build their never-never land Who in one short span grew remarkably tall and strong Are back in school ... Now that Summer's gone As we prepare for the changes a new season will bring We know that following a long Winter we can welcome Spring Then we'll have a kaleidoscope of colour before very long For Summer sleeps to regain strength ... She has not really gone! |
