Secret of Life by Janet Granger I watch my children as they dive into black chocolate pudding, licking humming with pleasure. My oldest points to the clouds at sunset, naming his favorite colors, proudly. The younger one explores the soft satin of my robe with his fingers, and puts his small head down on my shoulder, a perfect fit, under my chin. I smell his clean, soft hair, still damp from the bath. As I put him down to bed, I tickle him to hear his deep belly laugh, which always makes me smile. It took my children to show me the wonder. |
