By the Almanac By Taylor Graham The Blue Moon crossed last night, a globe of gathered snow behind cloud, above our breathing. The dogs pressed in against us, rib to rib for comfort. I’d forgotten this double January moon. The day was overcast with rain, without a sunset. We measured out our supper, and climbed to bed, heavy. But in the night, the Blue Moon crossed us into February, pale and cloudless. This morning, the earth cracks underfoot, our breath shivers wind-chimes. |
