Dear Poet Friends,

Where did June go? Oh yeah, I was working on and enjoying the Riverwood Poetry Festival. It was great to hear and see so many poet friends and friendly poets. If you'd like to check out who-all was there and get a taste of how much word-mad fun we had, go to www.riverwoodpoetry.org.

Since summertime is travel time, I have included some further-afield listings in the "Events Over the Border" section.

While so many of us were festivating (festivizing?), the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism named a new Connecticut Poet Laureate! His name is Dick Allen and the full 411 on him and the process of awarding the laurels is at
http://www.cultureandtourism.org/cct/cwp/view.asp?a=11&q=461580.

Your next newsletter will arrive on Friday, July 9, 2010 (after noon),
listing events for the period July 11-24, 2010. To see events in calendar format, and to see events further into the future, go to the Connecticut Poetry Calendar website:
http://poetz.com/connecticut.

Listings for the Connecticut Poetry Calendar and CT Poet News can be
submitted as far in advance as you like. The deadline for the next CT
Poet News, covering the period July 11- 24, 2010, is Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 12:00 noon.
