Thirty Pink Ladies
to be exact
nestled in accordion
pleated styrofoam
each one
hand selected
dark pink
firm
sweet

crisp

crunchy

tart
apple-a-day
delicious
the tongue desires
more.

I painted my nails bronze
for my Valentine to see
the better to scratch
the breadth of his back
sweet, firm, pink-lady
blush, he trembles
for more.

I kissed my Valentine
to sleep, firm pink-lady sweet
a touch tart
with luck
tomorrow
more.
