Peel Me a Star
          by Fran Levin

          I.
          Peel me a star
let loose the suds of light
          to bathe the earth
and make a twin of heaven

          II .
          Peel me a star
          flood the night
          with crystal skins
while I feast on its soft radiance

          such succulent light
          peel me another please
          for you

          III.
          Peel me a star
          hold out your arms
I'll wrap the threads to skeins of light
          and knit another garment
          for this dusty earth
