Tabula Rosa

I play with
the magnetized words
on the fridge,
arranging lists
on the left side
of nouns and verbs,
adjectives, adverbs,
prepositions,
pronouns--
all the parts
of speech
as if a box of
screws to sort.

On the right
I leave a poem,
moving the words
about as if stirring,
adding some herbs
here and there
vegetables
simmering until
it rolls off
the tongue with
a fullness--
I hope you
find
in the morning.
